Sick Day


I NEVER get sick!

I get EVEN. 

I woke up early ... to do yoga,  imagine that. 

Upon opening my eyes and taking a deep breath, I felt it. The pressure in my face, the congestion. What really worries me is the slight wheeze that I have in my throat. 

Now let's back up. I started this entry with the words...I NEVER GET SICK. 

With that being said, I do sometimes fall "under the weather" as we all do from time to time. It could be a small head cold, cramps from my underlying PMDD, sore muscles from pushing myself too hard (which I do often), or even a migraine. When these ailments come out to break me down, I fight back. 

FIGHT BACK HARD.

My great grandfather on my mothers side was Cherokee Indian. He never used medicine the way we do here in America, it was almost like he saw Tylenol as poison. He would create a number of things to heal himself and my great grandmother. Needless to say they were never sick and both lived well into their 80's... my great grandmother lived to be 98 years old, that's what I'm talking about! 

I took to his knowledge, and with that information paired with my fathers mothers ingenuity, I began to experiment at a very young age with apothecaric herbs, plants and gardening. 

Iva, my gram, instilled a no bullshit, hard working, never stopping work ethic... so I learned to not give up on my many experiments. All of this has helped to put me where I am today, when I feel badly, I fix myself. 

Some friends call me hippy dippy, a green witch, Dr. Wonder (I like that the best), whatever they want to say is fine with me. I will be the one stomping out the illness and colds with my "hippy dippy" answers. 

Today, as soon as I woke I drank some water and took a Probiotic, RAW Garden of Life for Women. Next I heated up, in a pan, three cubes of HOMEMADE bone broth!!! This is super important... not chicken soup or stock but broth YOU know was made from bones. 

I mix that with a Tbsp of minced garlic, drink all of that and chase it with green tea. 

My aromatherapy diffuser has a mixture of Edens Garden "Immunity" blend, "Fighting Five" and "Respiratory Ease". I use 


frankincense mixed with argan or coconut oil and apply in to the bottoms of my feet, and to my temples. 

I also take a mixture of vitamins, including black cumin seed, olive leaf, schizandra berry,and Holy basil (Tulsi) ... with all that,  plenty of water, and sleep I plan to kick whatever is frying to get me down. 

I will be doing yoga...

I will be taking personal inventory of my body, and I will be well.
