on a DELAY due to weather
First off I want to apologize to my readers this week, I am really pretty diligent about getting my post out on time. However, on the special Friday FIXX, being released on Saturday I am going to talk about not only the normal things that I would put on the fix, but how are used to these things during the calamity that ensuedD during my travel plans at the beginning of Fourth of July weekend.
Originally, I was going out of town to the West Coast, Portland. I had some plans with chosen family, but I to my dismay it was all corrupted in a very short period of time and my whole weekend changed. Originally I had everything for this blog put together and was going to deliver it. Normally fresh 9 o’clock in the morning on Friday. I had plenty of time on plane rides and in airports to be diligent and take care of my obligation to you guys and for myself.
However, in life, I have learned one thing that is very true, the lower expectations that I have the happier, I usually am, and stay. First, my flight was delayed in Cincinnati, then 2 1/2 hours later I could still join my connecting flight easily, we got on the plane only to be in the air for six hours and 13 minutes. The weather over Denver, where my connecting flight was, with some of the worst it’s seen in years. Tornadoes, hail, the size of golf balls, and thunderstorms. supposedly the FAA had okayed it for us to fly, I’m going to have to do some research on this, but I really don’t think it was a good idea for us to ever leave the land. The flight was originally supposed to be two hours and 45 minutes at the most, the whole flight I was afraid for my life.
Now I know I’m a little neurotic, I know that I worry a lot, and sometimes take things to the extreme in my mind. This was something different though, I was not the only person on the plane afraid the person behind me grabbed my chair, so hard they pulled my hair, not to mention the flight attendants were chaotically, trying to keep up with the plane while they couldn’t even walk. The pilot did his best to keep everybody calm, and I don’t even know if he knew what he was going to do. There was one point where I looked out the window in the airplane and saw a lightning crash into the Earth may be 180 yards away from me. Definitely one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen or been a part Of, changed my perspective for sure.
We landed three hours and 15 minutes late. It was crazy. Everyone was upset and I would say about 45% of the people missed our connecting flights if they had one. The flight that I was connecting to actually didn’t wait for my flight and left early, which then made me have to find another connecting flight which I couldn’t until the day before I was supposed to come home. I was distressed to say the least.
Here’s where the fax comes into play. I started listening to my playlist while I was waiting in line, the first time to get a connecting flight, which I did not. I listen to the playlist that I made to help calm me down and relax me. It made it easier for me to identify with the others around me in the same situation, make light of things, and stay lighthearted.
I also took some time to read part of the book that I mention this week, detox of the heart by Valerie Mason, John . It helps me to realize that I am not the only person suffering and that attachment to people, places things, and ideas can pretty much lead to suffering any time the only way I can keep that from happening is to appreciate what I have now, enjoy my life and do what I need to do in the moment. Which was what made me go get back in line for another three hours to get a standby flight home I realize there was no reason for me to attempt to get out to the West Coast only to turn around and probably have to deal with the same things again, it would take time away from my family, friends, and of course, my dog. I wasn’t into that thought so I waited, got on the standby flight because someone was nice enough to give up their seat after being in airports for almost 28 hours .
Moving forward, I will do my best to be on time on Friday, I hope you enjoy the playlist and take time to really look in to the book because it’s kind of life changing
Here is the playlist that saved my life…This time:

I am sorry , there will not be a recipe this week, but I do want to leave you with the information on detox for the heart, as well as a really good meditation from Insight Timer that helps with stress when traveling.

Drawing on her own experiences with abuse and addiction, Valerie Mason-John presents a well-grounded series of meditations that transform anger, hatred, and fear to heal emotional trauma. Valerie Mason-John knows what it is like to be filled with toxic emotions -and how to release them. After years of abuse and struggles with addiction, she was mired in anger, resentment, and fear. But through meditation and willingness to forge a new path, she learned how to disarm such toxins and find peace. In Detox Your Heart Mason-John helps us recognize our emotions, good and bad, and to develop the self-care to heal ourselves. Chapters that explore and clearly define negative emotions are paired with chapters on how to transform them. Meditation exercises based on the Buddhist principles of mindfulness, loving-kindness, and compassion provide tools to help us heal our own hurts and to close the gap that toxic emotions create between heart and mind.” Source: Publisher

Nichiren Buddhist Chant (Group): Nam-myoho-renge-kyo
According to Wikipedia, , the practice of cont chanting is referred to as Shōdai (唱題). Believers say that the purpose of chanting is to reduce suffering by eradicating negative karma along with reducing karmic punishments both from previous and present lifetimes,[6]with the goal of attaining perfect and complete awakening.
Chantelle Diachina, is who chance in this meditation. Feel the same transcendental vibes as the solo voice version of "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo" but with the of a choir of voices, created by a layering effect of the Chantelle‘s voice. This Nichiren Buddhist chant, which means "devotion to the Mystic Law of the Lotus (Sutra)" is operated, by joining in to allow the vibration to stick through your body, mind and Spirit. The after effect speaks the proof.
And it did, I used that meditation, prayer and chant the whole time I was on the plane, the whole time I was in the airport and the whole way home. It really helped me solidify my mind and stay focused on the present moment.
this weekend was definitely an adventure, it wasn’t super fun, but I learned a lot about myself and still have a few days off before Fourth of July. I will see you guys on Sunday and as always I love you for reading.
Be Well
